Last Modified:
March 25, 2014
In this page you will find short articles that have been written by some
illustrious brothers regarding the craft. Most of these are very
old, and I do not have the entire collection. Click on the picture to
open it.
If by any chance you have
some that I am missing, please be so kind to email me a text or word format of
it so others may enjoy them.

"Old Tiler Talks" by Carl Claudy -1924
The Old Tiler first appeared in print in August, 1921 when the first of
four hundred and fourteen "Old Tiler Talks" were printed in the Fellowship
Forum, a fraternal newspaper published in Washington, D.C.
In 1925 the publisher (The Temple Publishers) asked the author to select a
few of the best of the talks and thirty-one were accordingly made into a
little volume, copyrighted in that year.
By the time they were all sold the Fellowship Forum ran head on
into the depression and disappeared and with it the Old Tiler.
The portrait of the Old Tile on the book jacket is the loving work of
Brother Frank A. Stockwell of Buffalo, New Your, who has succeeded in
getting the biting sarcasm, courage and philosophy of the Old Tiler into
his kindly face. |

"Three Five Seven" by Ed Halpaus
These short talks written mostly by Ed when he served as the Grand Lodge
Educator for the Grand Lodge of Minnesota, with the purpose of passing on
information to Masonic Students, information he would come across that in his
opinion would be of useful interest to Freemasons. Because of this some of the
content may not meet the strictest test of a Masonic article; however, many
would, and he thinks many will meet the test of being a Masonic article if we
think of a Masonic article being one which would include information that is
useful and interesting information a Mason could learn from. Articles are
mostly written by him, but at times he would include works from others, whose
writing heI enjoyed.
