Ramblings in Masonry

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mr. Charles Fotheringham was born in Longbenton, England and is now a Canadian citizen.  He and his wife Dulcie Pearl, have one child.

Fotheringham received degrees of Specialist in Instrumental Vocal Music.  He is a thirty second degree mason and is a past member of the Rotary Club and the Lions Club as well as being a memberer of the Rosicrucian Order.  Having served in the Armed Forces for five years, he then traveled almost a decade on ocean liners as a professional musician.  He went to Canada in 1929 and began a teaching career in music.  He served as Director of Music in various churches and is presently at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Kitchener, Ontario.  He is an honorary member of the Chippewa Indian Tribe and bears the name Chief Medwayosh.  He has served as Grand Master in three of the higher grades of Freemasonry and Bandmaster for thirty five;  he is also a life member of the Canadian Bandmasters’ Association.
